Cheers to Us!

I have had my eye on a particular style of champagne flute for almost a year now... and the darn thing never goes on sale anywhere!! However, I was finally able to find a pair of these champagne flutes on eBay, brand new and unused for about $50 less (each) than the regular price! I was thrilled! I am reeealllyyy excited to have these beautiful flutes in all of our toasting pictures, and to hold for most of the night as we walk around greeting our friends and family. They will be beautiful keepsakes after the wedding also, and we'll break them out on each anniversary to cheers to another happy year together.

I love the beautifully cut crystal, the gorgeous amethyst color, and most of all... I love that they're not ordinary. They're perfect.

Ridin' in Style

I was super productive yesterday and was able to put several check marks on my wedding "To-Do-List"! One task that was particularly important to me was reserving transportation. Since we will be getting dressed and ready at the Colonial Country Club, and not at the chapel, we need some form of transportation to take us to the chapel and then back to the Colonial. I didn't want everyone to mess with driving their own cars, or worrying about parking, or walking long distances in the Texas heat in August... So I reserved a stretch limousine to make a couple trips to take all members of the wedding party to the chapel before the ceremony, and then back to the Colonial after the ceremony. Additionally, I reserved a classic white Rolls Royce to pick up Eric and I from the Colonial when the reception concludes, and take us to the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in downtown Fort Worth.

I searched around for a long time to find the best prices, since reserving 2 forms of transportation can get pricey. Then I stumbled upon a company called Imperial Limousines, which actually had package deals for weddings where 2 vehicles could be rented for a discounted price!! How genius!! I was really excited to have found their company, and I booked them right away! Now we are able to have both vehicles at various times throughout the 6 hour time frame for a little more than what most companies charge for only one vehicle rental.

Here is our wedding transportation...
We'll be ridin' in style for sure!!

The Suite Life!

I talked to Eric recently about where he wanted to stay on our wedding night. I didn't know if he would want to go big and fancy, or if his accountant side would come out and he would want to save money and stay in a standard room (haha). To my surprise, after looking at several hotels, room descriptions, and pictures... Eric wanted to book the Terrace Suite at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in downtown Fort Worth! This room has a huge terrace style balcony that overlooks the city and Sundance Square. We could both imagine sitting out on the balcony with champagne and strawberries, just relaxing and enjoying the view-- Lord knows we will need it after such an eventful day! I am super excited about this memorable night, and it's so nice that Eric was willing to make it extra special by booking such a fabulous room for us to enjoy.

Here are some pictures of
what we have to look forward to...
As Eric would say, "This room is BALLER!" hahaha...

Wedding Shenanigans!!

As you may know by now, if you have even glanced at my blog before, I am pretty detail oriented. I have very high expectations. I'm the only girl in my immediate family, and I'm the first girl (of all the grandchildren and cousins, etc.) in my family to get married. Additionally, my family is naturally over-the-top and larger-than-life... so it's only natural for my wedding to follow suit. I have not been stressed by the wedding planning process so far, because I have had SO many months to plan (since May 26, 2009). However, I know as we get down to the nitty-gritty details, I will start to stress more and more. This is where my fabulous mother came to me with a brilliant suggestion... she wanted me to meet a Wedding Planner to see if I would be interested in hiring her to help me with the finishing touches, as well as coordinate the events on the day before and the day of the wedding.

When I met Kristen Knight from Shenanigans Weddings and Events, I wanted to bluntly communicate my attention to detail and my very specific wants and needs... so I handed her a typed 12 page packet with information about myself, Eric, the wedding party, our moms, the venues, vendors, and everything else you can imagine! While most planners may have been annoyed by my dominant approach, Kristen loved it and complimented my thoroughness.

We talked for a LONG time about everything regarding the wedding, down to the smallest details... such as how I am going to display the escort cards. Since our first meeting, Kristen has kept in constant contact with me. She emails me ideas, pictures, and even goes to antique malls and boutiques to look for things I could use... then she sends me pictures from her phone of the things she found! She is so thoughtful, knows exactly what I want, and really understands my taste.

We are meeting on May 19th to spend the day looking at the venues and meeting with vendors... I can't wait!!

She is such a
